OUR UPLAND HUNTING STORY

We are a 3rd and 4th generation cattle farm located in the Piedmont of North Carolina. Based in the Hickory Mountain Township, our family has lived and farmed on the same property for over 100 years. The Hickory Mountain community is steeped in quail hunting tradition. Small game was the predominant quarry and quail was king. Situated among the farms and homesteads was the historical Hickory Mountain Gun Club. Due to the exceptional quail numbers in the Hickory Mountain area, industrialists from New York and Delaware would come in search of bobwhite quail. With housing developments now starting to dot the landscape where family farms and homesteads once stood, the distinct bobwhite whistle is almost non-existent.

Being out in God's creation working cows, sitting in a tree stand or walking behind a good bird dog is a tradition we have continued to pass down. In 2020 we decided to share our love for the outdoors and bird hunting with the public. We are excited to see the growth that has happened in our short existence as a hunting preserve. As our business expands each year, we hope to continue to make improvements and strive to keep the proud tradition of quail hunting alive in Chatham County, NC.
